SOFINS 2021: Today opening of Special Operations Forces Network Seminar and Exhibition.

Today opening of SOFINS, the Special Operations Forces Innovation Network Seminar and exhibition that takes place in the Military Camp of Souge near the city of Bordeaux, South of France from 29 June to 1 July 2021.

Held every two years, the SOFINS is a key event in the calendar of international defense exhibitions which is exclusively dedicated to military equipment for Special Operations Forces. The event is organized under the umbrella of the "Le Cercle de l’Arbalète", a defense association that promotes equipment designed and builds for the Special Forces Units.

The SOFINS is an opportunity for national and international defense companies and start-ups to present their latest innovations and also demonstrated military equipment in real conditions during live demonstrations.

The camp of Souge is the home base of the 13e RDP (France’s 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment), a special reconnaissance regiment of the French Army. It is one of three regiments in the French Army Special Forces Command, which is under the control of the COS (Special Operations Command). The Commandement des Opérations Spéciales (COS; Special Operations Command) is the organization that coordinates the use of the French special forces of all military branches (Army, Navy, and Air Force).

The Special Operations Forces (SOF) were created to execute critical missions from direct action t situational awareness to training in today’s complex international security environment. Today, the SOF units are involved in counter-terrorism operations, hostage liberations, unconventional warfare, and more.

Today, the Special Forces units need modern military equipment using the latest innovations and technologies. With the SOFINS, the French and International industry will use the notoriety of the event to present a wide range of combat equipment in the field of Land, Sean and Air tailored for Special Forces.
