Flare Bright UK autonomous drone start-up to be trialled at US Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiments 2022 exercise.
Flare Bright Ltd, a leading autonomous drone developer, has been selected for the prestigious United States Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE). Flare Bright is a rapidly growing aerospace company pushing the boundaries of embedded AI technology to develop autonomous drones, specialising in its UAS product: SnapShot, designed to be the lightest and simplest way to get aerial images at the single press of a button.

AEWE 2022 is the US Army's primary venue for small unit modernisation. It provides capability developers, cross-functional teams (CFTs), programme executive officers (PEOs), the science and technology (S&T) community, and industry a repeatable, credible, and rigorous operational experiment supporting both concept and materiel development. AEWE 2022 will take place at Fort Benning, GA during the Force on Force Phase of the experiments in the months of February and March 2022.
Flare Bright's autonomous drone flies in GPS-denied and jammed environments, and in a wide range of weather conditions, capturing images of the ground and situation from the vantage point of up to 100m height in the sky. Its autonomy means it flies at a single press of a button and autonomously returns to its user, without the Soldier having to do anything, or need any special training. Flare Bright will offer its SnapShot autonomous image-capture nanodrone and will be put through its paces by the US Army infantry, supported by small teams of Infantry from other allied nations.
Flare Bright is a rapidly growing aerospace company pushing the boundaries of embedded AI technology to develop autonomous drones. Flare Bright is developing a number of drones with different characteristics, but all based on a core autonomous, miniature, inertial navigation system built on cutting edge machine learning-enabled digital twin technology, which facilitates image-capture, wind measurement and sensing for a wide range of civil and defence customers. It has successfully won project funding from the MOD's Defence and Security Accelerator and is part of 2 UKRI Future Flight projects.
