Belarus and Russia deploy joint group of forces against Ukraine.
MINSK, October 10. /TASS-DEFENSE/. Belarus and Russia begin deploying a joint regional group of forces, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Monday, October 10. The Belarusian leader said that he had held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin after an informal CIS summit in St. Petersburg: “In the wake of an escalation on the western borders of the Union State, we agreed on deploying a regional group of forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. All these moves are consistent with our documents,” the BelTA news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying at a meeting with defense and security officials. “Now that the level of danger reaches the level as is the case now, we begin deploying a group of forces of the Union State”.

The Belarusian armed forces are the backbone of this group of forces, Lukashenko said. “I must inform you that the deployment of this group has begun. It has been in progress for already two days, I believe. I have handed down an instruction that we begin deploying this group,” Lukashenko said.
Lukashenko believes NATO is planning an aggression against Belarus, up to conducting a nuclear attack: “The situation around Belarus, as we have already said, remains tense. One of the reasons is that the West keeps arguing that the Belarusian army will directly engage [in Russia’s] special military operation in Ukraine. Having been influenced by such bogus stories, the military and political leader of the North Atlantic Alliance and a number of European countries are now openly considering options to carry out aggression against our country, up to conducting a nuclear strike,” he said.
Minsk was warned about a possible Ukrainian strike against Belarus through unofficial channels. “We were warned yesterday (on Sunday) through unofficial channels about a strike on Belarus from the territory of Ukraine. As it was stated: 'We will make it a Crimean bridge — 2.' My answer was simple: 'Tell the president of Ukraine and these other lunatics that the Crimean bridge will seem like a walk in the park if they touch even one meter of our territory with their dirty hands,” Lukashenko said.
