Last June, the Israeli company Plasan presented the first prototype based on the Mercedes Sprinter at the Eurosatory defense exhibition that was held in Paris, France.
After two months, Plasan Re'em was honored with an order from the Israeli Ministry of Defense' Procurement Manager to provide four ambulances protected against gunfire, equipped with full medical equipment, and ready to go on a mission. The wheels are integrated with a run-flat system, and the ambulance can carry five passengers including a doctor, patients, and a rescue team. The project was carried out with the full cooperation of all partners concerned.
A year ago, Plasan is honored with the first order by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, which incorporated strict requirements, which resulted in an optimal and professional product. The design of the protected ambulance was carried out by Plasan Re'em in collaboration with Colmobil, the importer of Mercedes to Israel. The planning and execution involved Zeszuta, a Polish company specializing in the production of ambulances and emergency vehicles in various configurations. This collaboration enables future assistance of countries of the European Union.
Plasan company is proud to be part of the effort in helping and preserving human life in threatened areas and that we were able to meet the task on a tight schedule. Many thanks to the Plasan Re'em and Zeszuta teams that proved their dedication and professional work that succeeded in every challenge during the project.
In the past year, Plasan Re'em has provided dozens of armored vehicles equipped with anti-riot protection, such as the 4x4 Toyota Hilux, and Sprinter Mercedes van for transporting passengers in threatened areas.
