TRB of Republika Srpska unveils Vihor armored tactial vehicle.
In Banja Luka, TRB (Tehnicki Remont Bratunac) presented “Vihor”, a new light tactical vehicle based on a modular chassis. The presentation of the new vehicle was organized on Police Day and the celebration of 30 years of existence and work with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, with whose cooperation cooperation “Vihor” was created.

Vihor is a vehicle projected to weigh up to 8 tons, including a payload of 1.5 to 2.5 tons. It is designed for 2 + 2 or 2 + 3 crew members, housed in a separate ballistic protected space with modular ballistic protection: level B6, STANAG 4569 level 2, possibly 3, as well as mine protection up to level 2b according to STANAG 4569. The crew space has 4 doors, with multi-purpose cargo space.
The vehicle has permanent 4-wheel drive, independent suspension of the front and rear axles, Aluminium, forged wheels with 365/80R20 tires including run-flat inserts, as well as a central tire inflation control system.
Vihor has a 200 kW diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission and two-speed transfer case. The vehicle is provided with 5 day/night cameras, GPS, winch, fire suppression system (for the engine compartment), gun ports, personal weapon brackets, specialized light and sound signalization, traction signalization system, anti-lock braking system, and towing hook.
TRB was founded in 1955 as a state-owned enterprise with two workshops for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of vehicle systems, we grew to become the Yugoslav Armed Forces Main Depot, with over 1,500 employees and 22,000 m2 of covered manufacturing and warehouse space. TRB quickly established its position as an integrator of comprehensive national defence and security solutions. Innovation and product development remain pillars of our strong manufacturing foundation. Based on a recent act of Parliament, the company completed the process of privatization, wherein the Government of the Republika Srpska initially retains a minority stake. The retention of Government participation provides a foundation of commercial contracts in support of raising national defence and security capabilities.
