The Russian Ministry of Defense ordered a batch of Tigr-M armored vehicles of questionable modification, mil.in.ua reports. The ordered batch of Russian-made Tigr-M armored vehicles received additional mounted armor protection.

Additional protection in the form of hinged armor plates covering the front and side projections increased the level of ballistic protection, but the new characteristics are unknown. It can be assumed that it has increased from the base level to the Russian standard Br5, which provides resistance to fire from machine guns and 7.62 mm rifles.

Due to the heavy set of hinged reservations, the weight of the car also increased: from the basic 5.3 to 7.8 tons. It is not known how this affected the driving qualities and the operation of the engine in these new conditions. However, it is safe to say that the passability of the chassis on a dirt road has greatly decreased. The Tigr-M is designed for the transportation of nine people, seven of whom are paratroopers.

The armament of the ordered equipment is unknown. However, the vehicles shown at the exhibition are equipped with an Arbalet-MD combat module, armed with a 12.7-mm Kord machine gun or a 7.62-mm PCTM machine gun. The module includes a Tucha smoke discharger system. The vehicles can also be equipped with a simple machine gun open turret.
