Nine years after the initial launch of the Mk47, CMMG has reinvented this model by merging it with its innovative Compact Action operating system. This system stands out with its design that eliminates the need for a traditional buffer tube and stock. By removing these elements, the Compact Action allows for a more compact and versatile weapon design, which is particularly advantageous for pistol-type configurations or rifles designed for use in confined spaces. This compact design does not compromise the weapon's performance, thus offering increased reliability and efficiency.

The Mk47 Dissent is a medium-sized platform, specifically designed to fire 7.62x39mm cartridges. It is compatible with readily available AK47 magazines while retaining the ergonomic controls of AR-style rifles.

Equipped with CMMG's Powerbolt technology, the Mk47 Dissent uses a .308-sized bolt, larger than the standard 5.56 bolt, enhancing reliability and durability, especially with surplus ammunition. The main advantage of using a larger bolt lies in its ability to handle higher pressures and offer better wear resistance. Therefore, the Powerbolt technology ensures increased durability and consistent reliability, even under intensive use conditions. This feature is particularly important for rifles designed to fire 7.62x39mm cartridges, like the Mk47 Dissent, as these cartridges are generally associated with higher pressure levels than 5.56 cartridges.

Chris Reinkemeyer, CEO of CMMG, commented on the launch, saying: "The introduction of the Mk47 into the Dissent series was a natural progression. This platform has been well-received by enthusiasts of both AR and AK models. Integrating it into the Dissent series allows us to incorporate features highly requested by our customers."

Among the innovations of the Mk47 Dissent are a side-folding stock, available in rifle configurations, and a non-reciprocating and reversible front-side charger. The rifle also features a Zeroed Drop-In Trigger and is available in both rifle and pistol configurations, with options of a 16.1-inch (40.9 cm) barrel and a 14.3-inch (36.3 cm) pinned and welded barrel. It is equipped with Zeroed accessories, including a new manual bolt catch. The advertised price for these new weapons is $2.400, or just under €2.200 at the moment.
