The showcased AR3 MLRS model at ExpoDefensa 2023 is equipped with two 750 mm Fire Dragon 480 tactical ballistic missiles, featuring a range of 290 km, a warhead weighing 480 kg, and a circular error probability (CEP) accuracy of 30 m. These specifications emphasize the system's capacity for long-range precision strikes.

During the IDEX2023 exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced a contract with Norinco worth AED902 million ($245 million) for the procurement of AR3 multiple rocket/missile launchers. This contract underscores the international interest and market presence of Norinco's defense systems.

First unveiled at the International Defence Exhibition IDEX 2011, the AR3 is a multi-caliber Multiple Rocket Launcher System (MRLS) intended for long-range precision strikes through a launching-transporting container system. The system accommodates guided BRE6 rockets with a caliber of 370mm, reaching a maximum range surpassing 220 km. Alternatively, it can deploy simplified control rockets with a caliber of 300mm, extending up to a maximum range of over 130 km. The 300mm rockets encompass various types, including HE-FRAG, incendiary, fuel-air explosive, and clusters with anti-personnel or anti-tank submunitions. Additionally, the AR3 is able to carry two pods with 750mm Fire Dragon 480 tactical ballistic missiles, which have a range of 290 km, and TL-7B anti-ship missiles.

Mounted on a Wanshan WS2400 8x8 heavy high-mobility truck chassis, the AR3 features a fully enclosed, air-conditioned cab designed for a crew of five. In terms of combat application, the AR3 can conduct fire missions independently or as part of a battalion or battery. Supported by an advanced meteorological survey system, command and control infrastructure, and comprehensive logistical support, the AR3 is equipped to engage critical enemy targets deep within the defense, ranging from airports and command centers to large troop concentrations.

The AR3's combat vehicle is equipped with a range of accessories, including a protection system, firing control system, night vision devices, GPS positioning, air conditioning, and a tire inflation system. Its capacity for full control from within the cabin positions the AR3 as a formidable MLRS globally. As Norinco's multiple military assets, it was specifically crafted for export purposes.
