ExpoDefensa 2023: Colombian Defense Minister inaugurates key gathering for Global Defense Leaders in Latin America.
The ninth edition of ExpoDefensa, a major international event in the field of defense and security, is currently underway from December 5 to 7 at Corferias. Officially inaugurated by the Colombian Defense Minister, Iván Velásquez Gómez, this edition stands as both a specialized business hub and a benchmark for the defense and security sectors in Latin America and the Caribbean. This edition of Expodefensa aims to share ideas, establish strategic alliances, and promote knowledge exchange, to generate solutions to the challenges faced by society. Over 74 official delegates from 26 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia are in attendance to reinforce the importance of the Military Forces and National Police in combating internal and external threats.
Over these three days, the country's main event and commercial platform will showcase the most remarkable technological advancements and commercial offers in the security and defense sector. Minister Velásquez emphasized the importance of this event, where participants can seek technologies, adaptations, and integrations to effectively address security and defense challenges, thereby contributing to a dual-use development and production ecosystem.
Andrés López, Executive President of Corferias, highlighted the importance of coordinated work between countries for defense and security, noting that "beyond borders, we unite in a joint effort to promote security and defense as fundamental pillars for building a safer and more sustainable world."
Minister Velásquez invited all participants to take advantage of this event, which features nearly 227 exhibitors, experts, leaders, and decision-makers from South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. He also thanked the Military and Police Forces for "building a reputation of excellence and professionalism, their valuable contribution is fundamental in building peace and development in our country."
