The BMC Amazon 4x4 multi-purpose armored vehicle made its public debut at the Defense Exhibition Eurosatory in June 2016, introducing a new generation of combat vehicles with enhanced mine and IED threat protection.
Featuring a monocoque structure with an integrated v-shaped armored hull, the BMC Amazon ensures protection against mine blasts by deflecting the explosion away from the vehicle. Additionally, it offers safeguards against side blasts from improvised and roadside explosive devices (IEDs) and shell splinters. The 4x4 Amazon offers excellent agility and can reach a top speed of 110 km/h, with a range of 800 km. The 4x4 Amazon benefits from ballistic, mine, and handmade explosive protection. Adding to its combat capabilities, the 4x4 Amazon features a remotely controlled weapon station.
Designed to fulfill diverse tasks, the Amazon can accommodate a crew of seven members. The vehicle boasts a maximum combat weight of 16 tons, showcasing its remarkable payload capacity.
Standard equipment includes fire extinguishing and air conditioning systems, a cold climate package, tire blowout fixing, and a central tire inflation system, allowing the vehicle to operate effectively in various environmental conditions.
To cater to specific mission needs, the Amazon comes with additional task-specific equipment, such as a self-recovery winch, a siren announcement system, smoke grenade launchers, and an intercom system.
