Panus delivers two R600 8x8 amphibious APC prototypes to Royal Thai Marine Corps.
The official YouTube channel of the Thai company Panus Defense Innovation, the security defense innovation development department of Panus Assembly Cy Ltd, posted their first video of testing their R600 8x8 amphibious armored personnel carrier, of which the first two units were certified in 2021 by the Thai Ministry of Defense Standards Committee.

According to the company as the winner of the project for the purchase of 8x8 armored APCs, two vehicles by selection method, amount 99,900,000 baht ($3,080,387), price per unit each vehicle 49,950,000 baht ($1,540,240) announced on September 20, 2021.
The R600 weighs 25 tons, is 8.4 meters long, 3.2 meters wide, 2.75 meters high. The ground clearance is 500 mm. The Cummins engine develops 600 hp and is coupled to an Allison 4500 6-speed automatic transmission. The power-to-ratio rate is 24hp/t. The 8-wheel steering vehicle can drive either in 8x4 or 8x8 mode. It can overcome a 60cm vertical obstacle, a 40% slope, and a 60% grade ramp. The top speed on-road is 110 km/h, 14 km/h on water. The operating range is 800 km. The IFV can accommodate 2 crew members and 20 people. The protection level is Stanag 4569 LV.2, or Lv.3 in option.
The Royal Thai Navy needs to supply 8X8 armored personnel carriers for the Thai Marine Corps. 7 vehicles for a maximum cost of 448,000,000 baht ($ 13,272,699), but up to a total of 21 vehicles will be produced in Thailand.
