The OBAD combat quadcopter can be driven manually or configured for autonomous operation. It uses advanced avionics and precise GNS navigation systems to perform its tasks. The system is designed for use day and night and is capable of reconnaissance, intelligence data collection, target acquisition, and destruction.
This combat drone can be used by day or night for reconnaissance, intelligence collection, target identification, acquisition and destruction. Other payloads of a maximum 50 kg can be carried instead of the weapon system.
The multicopter is powered by eight BLDC motors with a total power of 68.8 KW. It uses two-blade composite counter-rotating propellers. The operating weight is 120 kg and it has a payload capacity of 40 kg. OBAD can operate at altitudes up to 500 meters above ground level and at a cruising speed of 45 km/h. The estimated flight time is between 15 and 20 minutes, and the system has a range of more than 5 km. It is capable of vertical takeoff and landing.
The OBAD is equipped with a Remotely Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) which includes two 90mm unguided anti-tank missiles (M79 OSA) with a range of 600 meters. The RCWS allows for an azimuth movement range of 120 degrees and an elevation range between -45 and +5 degrees. The system also includes a CCD daytime camera with a continuous optical zoom of up to 30x, a thermovision camera with a digital zoom of 4x, and a laser range finder with a range of up to 5 km.
The tactical communications jammer operates in the 30-80 MHz band, or optional 512 MHz.
