Russia Enhances Military Power with New Shipment of T-90M and T-72B3M Tanks.
According to Rostec, on July 18, 2023, Russia continues to improve its military hardware production, as evidenced by a recent delivery of T-90M "Proryv" main battle tanks and upgraded T-72B3M tanks to the Russian Armed Forces. These vehicles, manufactured by Uralvagonzavod and procured as part of the national defense initiative, provide a significant upgrade to the combat capabilities of the troops on the ground. Despite Russia having experienced significant losses of vehicles, this delivery demonstrates its ability to replace the lost equipment.

The official handover of this new batch of tanks took place recently, further strengthening Russia's military potential. Though the total number of vehicles delivered has not been disclosed, it is evident that this shipment adds to previous ones, highlighting the ongoing commitment to modernize and upgrade the military's capabilities and replace lost equipment due to combat.
The T-90M "Proryv" stands out for its powerful armament, which includes a 125mm cannon, a 7.62mm PKT coaxial machine gun, and a 12.7mm NSVT heavy machine gun. In addition to its armament, the T-90M's protection is at the core of its features. With its standard armor, explosive reactive armor "Relikt," as well as its metal net armor and slat armor, the tank offers increased resistance against enemy projectiles.
The T-90M "Proryv" is also equipped to handle nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) operations, providing enhanced crew protection in hostile environments. Furthermore, its fire detection and suppression system, combined with a bulldozer blade mounted on the front and a deep-water fording kit, ensures optimal operational capacity in various conditions.
The T-90M can reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h and has a three-member crew. It has a length of 6.68 meters, a width of 3.78 meters, and a height of 2.23 meters.
As for the T-72B3M, it is equipped with a smoothbore 125mm 2A46M5 cannon, along with a 7.62mm PKTM coaxial machine gun and a 12.7mm NSV heavy machine gun. With its standard and explosive reactive armor "Relikt," this tank is designed to withstand enemy attacks and ensure the safety of its crew.
The T-72B3M also features an array of advanced accessories and technological devices to enhance its versatility on the battlefield. From night vision to fording equipment, a pressure-sealed NBC protection system, laser rangefinder, thermal sight, and ballistic computer, this tank is engineered to be effective in various conditions and environments.
With a maximum speed of 60 km/h, the T-72B3M carries a three-member crew. It measures 9.53 meters in length, 3.59 meters in width, and 2.22 meters in height.
With this new shipment of combat tanks to the Russian army, Russia once again demonstrates its ability to replace its military equipment. This capacity to replace faulty vehicles is a crucial asset in times of conflict and could provide Russia with a significant advantage in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine.
