Personnel from the Spanish Army 47th Palma Regiment recently conducted experimental sessions with Polaris vehicles at the Infantry Academy in Toledo. The unit, which falls under the Baleares Command (Comgebal), has assessed the capabilities these platforms could provide to anti-tank defense sections equipped with Spike missiles or Alcotan or C-90 rocket launchers.
The Spanish Army aims to equip units such as anti-tank defense sections and special operations groups with compact and easily transportable ATVs. Polaris has supplied similar ATVs to the United States Special Operations Command, with the MRZR among the company's models.
The Spanish Army is also purchasing Utility Task Vehicles (UTVs) or buggies for more routine missions, such as transportation. A contract managed by the Army's Logistic Support Command (MALE) includes the purchase of 34 diesel-engine vehicles for 2.2 million euros and six electric-engine vehicles, as well as logistical support.
The MRZR is a series of lightweight, highly mobile, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) manufactured by Polaris Defense, a division of Polaris Industries. These vehicles are specifically designed for military and special operations applications. They are known for their durability, versatility, and off-road capabilities, making them suitable for a wide range of missions in various environments.
The MRZR series includes several models, such as the MRZR 2, MRZR 4, and MRZR D, each with unique features and capabilities to meet the specific requirements of different military units. These vehicles can be configured with various mission kits and accessories, such as weapons mounts, communication systems, cargo carriers, and more.
The compact design of the MRZR allows it to be easily transported by helicopter, cargo aircraft, or tactical vehicles, making it an ideal choice for quick deployment in remote areas or challenging terrain. Its high mobility and adaptability make the MRZR a valuable asset for military and special operations units across the globe, including the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and other allied forces.
