Army 2024: Russia presents Anti UAV and IED system with tests conducted on frontline against baba yaga drones.

At the Army-2024 forum, the Ruselectronics holding company of the state corporation Rostec is presenting for the first time the modernized electronic warfare system, Lesochek. In the new modification, the product not only protects armored vehicles against radio-controlled explosive devices but is also capable of jamming the navigation and control channels of commercial drones, which are also used for frontline tasks.

The Lesochek electronic warfare system, developed by the Sozvezdie company within the Ruselectronics holding, is noted for its mobility and compact size, allowing it to be placed not only on armored vehicles but also in a backpack or briefcase.

The equipment generates broadband interference signals both across the entire operating frequency band and in any combination of high frequency (HF), very high frequency (VHF), and ultra-high frequency (UHF) transmitter bands.

Lesochek provides protection against radio-controlled mine explosives placed along the routes of military convoys, in parking areas, and during the movement of rolling railway stock. In the new modification, the complex additionally has the function of suppressing satellite radio navigation channels and control of commercial drones, which can be used, among other things, for reconnaissance, fire adjustment, and strikes with light munitions.

Moreover, Lesochek can be used to protect VIPs from radio-controlled mine explosives when moving on foot, including indoors. At venues where official events are held, it can be used to block the reception and transmission modes of radio signals by "foreign" radio-electronic emitting receivers to protect confidential information.

The Russian army has declared that Lesochek complexes are actively used in the war in Ukraine. Based on combat experience, specialists are constantly working on upgrading the equipment, improving its technical characteristics in terms of weight and size parameters as well as power and additional operating scenarios. During the Army forum, for the first time, the army will showcase a version of the complex with an anti-UAV function, which is currently in high demand on the front line for the protection of equipment and personnel.
