BlueHalo Secures Four-year Contract with US Army for P-HEL Counter-Drone System Support.

BlueHalo has secured a four-year contract to provide preventative and corrective maintenance, as well as operator and maintenance team training for the Palletized High Energy Laser (P-HEL) system. This contract establishes BlueHalo as the primary system integrator for all phases of the P-HEL, from prototype development to deployment.

Developed by BlueHalo for the U.S. Army's Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO), the P-HEL system has demonstrated its capability to neutralize threats posed by small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS).

Jonathan Moneymaker, CEO of BlueHalo, stated that the company will extend its support for directed energy throughout all operational phases, including innovation, maintenance, training, and battlefield management.

The LOCUST laser system, a key component of the P-HEL, integrates precision optical and laser hardware with advanced software and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) algorithms to enhance the system's ability to engage targets rapidly.

BlueHalo delivered the first complete prototype of the P-HEL system in April 2022, which was subsequently deployed overseas by the U.S. Army RCCTO in November 2022. A second P-HEL system was deployed earlier this year. Regular maintenance has been conducted to ensure their operational effectiveness.

Jimmy Jenkins, BlueHalo Sector President, affirmed the ongoing collaboration with the Army and RCCTO to support the P-HEL, emphasizing the integration of new technologies into operations.

BlueHalo specializes in defense technologies, including space systems, counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), autonomous systems, electronic warfare, cyber capabilities, and AI/ML.
