Chess Dynamics and BAE Systems Bofors Collaborate on Advanced Tridon Mk2 Fire Control System.


On 22 July 2024, Chess Dynamics announced a successful collaboration with BAE Systems Bofors on the fire control element of the new Tridon Mk2. This next-generation 40mm anti-aircraft system represents a significant advancement in firepower and operational capability, integrating Chess Dynamics' expertise in surveillance, fire control, and precision positioning.

Building on the legacy of the original Tridon system, the Tridon Mk2 is known for its reliability and enhanced capabilities to mitigate a wide range of threats, from drones to aircraft. The system provides security and protection for military forces and civil infrastructure over large areas. Chess Dynamics' precision in delivering real-time target coordinates to the Tridon Mk2 has been crucial for its role in ground-based air defense.

The Tridon Mk2 fire control system is a variant of Chess Dynamics' Hawkeye Air Defense (AD) system. The Hawkeye AD system integrates a high-definition thermal imager and daytime TV sensors with a high-performance laser rangefinder, all mounted on a dynamic direct-drive positioner. With an integrated tracker, Hawkeye AD provides precise 3D coordinates of both air and surface targets to fire control or combat systems.
