Texelis and AAE collaborate to integrate Celeris 4x4 mobility solution into armored vehicles.
The strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) announced in late January 2024 between Texelis, a French mobility solutions provider, and Advanced Armoured Engineering (AAE), based in the United Arab Emirates, marks a significant step towards integrating cutting-edge technologies in military vehicle development. Among the promising outcomes of this collaboration is the potential integration of Texelis's Celeris 4×4 military mobility solution, unveiled in November 2023, onto AAE’s armored survivability solutions.

Developing a new 4×4 military vehicle poses substantial challenges, demanding expertise across various domains such as mobility, armor, and systems integration, all within a highly competitive landscape. Manufacturers face a critical decision: opt for a commercial chassis to benefit from lower costs and readily available spare parts, compromising on military-grade mobility and encountering numerous technical hurdles, or pursue a custom-made solution that, while expensive, offers high performance, control over components, extensive life cycle management, and precise alignment with end-user requirements.
Texelis's Celeris offers a middle ground—a hassle-free, custom-made, turnkey mobility solution that combines the advantages of both approaches. It provides partners with a mobility solution tailored to their specific needs, including a dedicated support system. The Celeris 4×4 features 12 base kits, such as axles, powerpack, or steering, and over 30 optional kits for customization based on the intended use and required performance. Capable of supporting both self-supporting and ladder-frame vehicles, Celeris 4×4 facilitates a broad spectrum of vehicle architectures. Weighing approximately 4.5 tonnes, including tyres, it is designed for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) ranging from 13 to 18 tonnes.
This collaboration between Texelis and AAE is expected to lead to the integration of the Celeris 4×4 military mobility solution into AAE's armored survivability platforms, enhancing the capabilities and performance of future military vehicles and addressing the complex needs of modern armed forces.
