In December 2022, Galvion secured a framework contract from NSPA that facilitates the procurement of its high-performance Batlskin Caiman head system and accessories for NATO countries and their partners. To meet increasing demand, Galvion is investing in the creation of a European production hub in Gdansk, Poland, set to open later this year. Simultaneously, Galvion established a production partnership with NP Aerospace in the UK to produce helmets for the UK VIRTUS program and broader NATO markets. This partnership now consistently supplies Galvion's Cobra Plus helmets to the UK and Batlskin Caiman systems to NATO.
The NSPA framework contract, through which NATO countries place orders, was awarded after comprehensive user trials conducted by Norway, acting as the lead nation, under the supervision of NSPA. The Caiman helmet system from Galvion, selected to meet the highest performance category among four specified helmet types, is available in five sizes and features Galvion’s latest APEX lining system, an intuitively adjustable design that allows for a customized fit and provides unmatched stability for the latest visual augmentation devices. The Caiman helmet is adaptable for highly dynamic operations with mission-specific accessories and is specially designed to integrate electronics, communication headsets, and other essential equipment.
Céline Danielli, NSPA General and Cooperative Service Programme Manager stated, "This contract exemplifies NSPA’s added value to nations and industry. By utilizing the NATO Logistics Stock Exchange, the agency consolidates technical requirements with the latest technology and equipment, enabling nations to procure what they need via a web platform."
Todd Stirtzinger, CEO of Galvion, expressed, "We are very proud to see an increasing number of countries join Norway, Finland, and Sweden in ordering our flagship Caiman head system through the NSPA, which provides NATO countries a greatly simplified procurement route for our helmets, along with a growing list of integrated accessories. We continue to work both internally and with top-tier partners to develop and integrate capability enhancements, ranging from our scalable E.D.G power to communications, strobes, and visual displays, ensuring that the Caiman platform continues to meet evolving mission needs, all available through the NSPA procurement route."
He added, "Our investment strategy remains focused on keeping pace with the growing global demand for our head systems, through the establishment of a European production facility and strategic partnerships, as well as ongoing investment in Galvion’s domestic facilities, enabling us to effectively service current and future demand."
