Germany announced a new military aid package to Kyiv, including 18,000 units of 155-millimeter artillery ammunition, Leopard 2A6 tanks, and 14 all-terrain vehicles. The delivery will also feature 14 Vector surveillance drones, 30 RQ-35 Heidrun unmanned reconnaissance units, and five systems for anti-drone defenses.

The RQ-35, manufactured by Sky Hawk, is a drone uniquely developed to meet the specific requirements of Ukrainian forces and to adapt to the terrain's characteristics. It is designed to provide video and electronic intelligence from up to 30 kilometers away, while flying at very low altitudes.

Furthermore, the German government is set to provide Kyiv with 180 RF 360 systems for drone detection, more than 2,000 RGW 90 Matador anti-tank weapons, already used by Ukraine since June 2022, 70 GMW anti-tank grenade launchers, and 40,000 units of 40-millimeter ammunition, among other military supplies.

RF 360 DedroneSensor is a civilian passive radio sensor, manufactured by Dedrone company designed for network integration, offering capabilities in the detection, classification, and precise location (geolocation) of drones and their remote controls. Key features include the use of radio frequency localization to accurately identify and map the position of drones and their operators. It boasts long-range detection and direction-finding capabilities of up to 5 kilometers, ensuring comprehensive coverage. The system is engineered for quick installation and commissioning, benefiting from cloud connectivity and the integration of LTE and GPS technologies. It also provides valuable data on drone activity "hot spots," making it highly effective in environments with significant radio frequency noise. This optimization makes the RF 360 an essential tool to detect and localise russian FPV drones

German media outlets are drawing attention to the country's continued support for rearming Ukraine, notwithstanding repeated warnings from Russia that such actions could further extend the duration of the conflict. Since February 24, 2022, and the start of the Russian invasion, Kyiv has received more than USD 156 billion in military assistance.

Additional equipment being sent includes six Wisent 1 armored recovery vehicles, two Biber bridge-laying tanks, nine minesweeping vehicles, a tank recovery vehicle, Satcom surveillance systems, 330-night vision devices, and three patrol vehicles, among others.

The biber is built on the chassis of a battle tank, such as the Leopard 1 or 2, depending on the version, the vehicle is capable of launching a portable, foldable bridge in minutes, allowing forces to quickly cross water obstacles, trenches, or other gaps that would otherwise impede mobility. The bridge it deploys is 22 meters long, enabling the crossing of significant obstacles.

With these contributions, Germany ranks as the second-largest Western supporter in terms of rearming Kyiv, having already allocated more than €20 billion to this effort, as reported by local television networks.
