It is also effective in counter-terrorism, stability maintenance, emergency rescue operations, and polar scientific research. The vehicle is equipped to handle special operations including transportation, terrain communication, medical treatment, and fire protection in severe weather conditions.

The "Giant Lizard" incorporates several core technologies, including dual-body posture adjustment, independent four-wheel drive mechanical transmission, and vibration reduction technology. With these advanced features, the vehicle offers enhanced maneuverability and utility. The "Giant Lizard" is China’s first 17-ton class fully protected dual-body tracked all-terrain vehicle, boasting complete independent intellectual property rights. It utilizes a modular design for "platform+" style expansion, allowing integration of various rear-mounted functional modules, thus ensuring excellent adaptability for platform modifications.

The "Giant Lizard" is built to establish novel combat capabilities for comprehensive, three-dimensional mobile operations in high-altitude, cold mountainous terrains. This vehicle aims to enhance operational forces through systematic development and integration of all-terrain weaponry and equipment. Notable features include a maximum road speed of 65 km/h, amphibious speed of 5 km/h, and robust protection against Type 56 7.62mm standard ammunition. The vehicle can operate in temperatures ranging from -43°C to 50°C and is designed for a crew of 4+10 members, making it highly suitable for various mission profiles.
