On this occasion, in addition to the Rhino vehicles, six patrol cars, 15 motorcycle patrol vehicles, and various tactical equipment were provided to the state's preventive police, firefighters, custodians, and tourism personnel.

The acquisition of this equipment began in December 2023, when the Secretary of Public Security of the City of Puebla announced the purchase of two tactical vehicles. Assembled by a company located in Puebla, these vehicles are designed to safely transport 13 people. According to police sources, they will be used for special patrols or when a specific transfer or street operation is necessary, offering excellent support in critical situations involving gunfire.

The Rhino is a Light Tactical Vehicle (VTL), developed by the Tactical and Technological Security Equipment (ETTS) company. It is distinguished by its lightweight, and maneuverability in urban areas thanks to its compact design, and high level of protection. The VTL structure is specially designed with imported ballistic steel, ensuring enhanced protection in violent situations. The vehicle's angular engineering provides superior ballistic resistance to prevent the penetration of fragments and impacts of ammunition from various weapons.

The main characteristics of the Rhino include level V+ armor, reinforced wheels, light maneuverability, high resistance capacity, a searchlight beacon, special suspension, a snorkel for improved performance, rotating embrasures, ample crew space, high-performance armored glass, an upper emergency hatch, easy access for getting on and off, external and internal supports, and a run-flat system on all tires, including spares.
