Jakusz PA presents blast-resistant containers at WDS 2024.
At the World Defense Show (WDS) 2024, Jakusz PA, a key player in the defense industry based in Poland, is showcasing a range of blast-resistant containers designed for the isolation and transportation of hazardous and explosive materials. This innovation represents a comprehensive solution for military forces, border guards, police services, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams, and public facility security services.

These gas-tight containers offer maximum protection against shock waves, fires, and shrapnel while providing enhanced safety against CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive) risks.
The design of the containers allows for rapid isolation and transport of hazardous materials with a maximum weight ranging from 20 g to 8 kg of TNT equivalent. They can be mounted on trailers, mobile platforms, vehicles, or adapted for installation on robotic propulsion units and pickup truck chassis. This flexibility enables fast transfer during operations, facilitating the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of a dangerous object near the hazard site. Moreover, the containers enable the sampling of detonation gases from a sealed container and the monitoring of pressure inside the container body, with gas release after detonation and sampling from inside the container into special gas sample cylinders for further analysis in specialized laboratories.
These solutions have been field-tested and certified by research institutes, ensuring their effectiveness and reliability. They are designed for remote operation, via wired or radio control, and feature a fully automated opening/closing system, which can also be operated with an explosive ordnance disposal robot.
Among the highlighted products, the ALEXA container stands out for its ability to provide protection against "dirty bombs," chemical and biological threats, with a maximum weight of 1.5 kg of TNT equivalent. The PAULA model, resistant to up to 10 detonations for a maximum weight of 5 kg of TNT equivalent, is specially designed for police services, airports, and state security services, allowing for the safe transport of suspicious loads away from populated areas. The range is completed by the EVA and EVA PLUS models, designed to isolate and transport suspect objects that may contain explosives in urban environments, offering protection against shock waves, shrapnel, fires, and toxic gases.
Founded in 1985 with origins dating back to the 1940s, JAKUSZ initially gained recognition for producing safes and quickly established itself as a key player in the security sector, particularly within the banking market through the manufacture and installation of armored cabinets, modular strongrooms, and vault doors worldwide. Highlight projects include creating a water-tight strongroom for the Jagiellonian Library and extensive strongrooms for the Polish Security Printing Works.
The 1990s saw JAKUSZ expand its expertise into developing explosion-resistant devices and electromagnetic field-resistant structures, following extensive research and testing. This expansion led to the innovation in the disposal and safe transport and storage of hazardous materials. Reflecting its dynamic growth and broadened product offering, JAKUSZ evolved into a commercial law entity, JAKUSZ Bogdan Jakusz Sp. z o.o., at the beginning of 2013, further cementing its commitment to providing advanced security solutions and containment vessels for a global clientele.
