Latvia aiming to stonger partnership with ukraine drone and energy cooperation.

Latvia announced a new partnership with Ukraine to provide resources supply, a way of continuing battle, and finally close and stronger links for cooperation between those two countries Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, met his newly appointed Latvian counterpartBaiba Braže at a joint briefing in Kyiv.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister thanked Riga for its leadership in the drone coalition and noted that Ukrainian and Latvian companies can do a lot in this area together.

"We are currently working together to increase this production. We need more drones," was stated by Minister Kuleba. Recently, the Latvian government decided to send Ukraine the first batch of drones as part of the drone coalition Latvia initiated.

While Latvia has sent drones purchased using donations from the public in the past, today's governmental decision marks the first major batch of drones. Defence Minister Andris Spruds said it is Latvia's first major contribution to the coalition.

Local industry is involved in the procurement, meaning that the drone coalition is swiftly gaining momentum in support of Ukraine. Spruds added that the drones destined for Ukraine are of high quality and have been tested.

moreover, Latvia will send electrical supplies to maintain an Ukrainian electricity production despite of Russian strike on Power plants around Ukraine. More precisely a TS-250000/330 transformer with a capacity of 250 MVA, previously used at the Riga Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), a GR110 compressed air compressor, and 60 tonnes of transformer oil.

The Latvian State Fire and Rescue Service assisted in delivering the oversized cargo to the destination. The European Union covered transportation costs.

It was reported that Latvia will allocate at least €10 million annually to build up the drone coalition. The ambition of the coalition countries is to provide a million drones to meet the needs of Ukraine.
