The WFP has purchased three ground preparation machines designed for landmine clearance, developed in the city of Kharkiv. The first machine has been successfully tested and handed over to the FSD's pyrotechnic units. The production of two additional machines is currently underway.

Ihor Bekaravainyi emphasized the collaboration behind these machines, "The development and manufacturing of such demining equipment is a positive example of cooperation between business, state, and international partners, creating competitive products from Ukrainian production."

A key advantage of the domestic ground preparation machine over foreign counterparts is its simplicity, which allows for quick repairs in the event of detonation of explosive objects. The cost of one machine is 5.6 million hryvnias, significantly less than its foreign equivalent, which can cost upwards of 500,000 euros.

Yevhen Ivanov expressed gratitude to the WFP, FAO, and FSD for strengthening the technical capabilities of the pyrotechnic units, accelerating the pace of demining in the Kharkiv region, and placing trust in the Ukrainian manufacturer. He noted, "Kharkiv is one of the most mine-contaminated regions in Ukraine, making this work a priority for our area."

It is noted that the vehicle is easy to manufacture, use, maintain, and repair. It uses mechanisms that make it easy to restore and replace any part of its mechanism even in case of damage from hitting an anti-tank mine.

The Kharkiv-made equipment works remotely, at a distance of 300 meters, eliminating any threat to people. To operate the vehicle, a remote control is used. The total weight of the machine reaches 16 tons, and the operational speed is 3-4 km/h. It can “neutralize 95% of all mines”.
