The Trident II (D5) missile contract, awarded by the Strategic Systems Programs in Washington, D.C., is valued at $109.2 million and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2029. Under the terms of the agreement, Lockheed Martin is tasked with supporting the integration of the Trident II (D5) Missile and reentry subsystems into the Common Missile Compartment for the U.S./U.K. Columbia/Dreadnought submarine construction programs. A significant portion of the work related to this contract will be performed in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Lockheed Martin's Trident II D5 fleet ballistic missile, the latest generation of the U.S. Navy's submarine-launched ballistic missiles, continues the legacy of the successful Polaris, Poseidon, and Trident I C4 programs. Its ongoing production in the United States underscores its vital importance for the country's naval defense. The Space Systems division of Lockheed serves as the prime contractor for the missile's development, production, and support equipment, also providing technical and logistical support at deployment sites.

Additionally, Lockheed Martin has been selected to produce more PrSM missiles under a $219 million contract awarded by the U.S. Army. This contract, the fourth for the long-range surface-to-surface missile, aims to significantly increase production capacity to meet army demand. The first PrSM missiles were delivered in December 2023, following a successful production qualification test in November.

The PrSM, the U.S. Army's next-generation long-range precision strike missile, is capable of neutralizing targets beyond 400km. This new surface-to-surface weapon system features an open systems architecture for maximum flexibility, a modular design for future growth, and compatibility with the HIMARS and Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). PrSM production will continue as Lockheed Martin escalates manufacturing efforts to fulfill current EOC contracts, with additional testing scheduled for this year.

These contracts highlight Lockheed Martin's ongoing expertise in developing advanced missile solutions, meeting the critical defense needs of national and international security. With these advancements, Lockheed Martin reinforces its leadership position in defense innovation and strategic capabilities delivery.
