At the World Defense Show 2024 (WDS 2024) exhibition in Saudi Arabia, China's LOONGUAV introduces the Smaug J1-1500 simulator pistol. This device demonstrated a blend of innovation and functionality tailored for modern security needs.

The Smaug J1-1500, developed by LOONGUAV, is a long-distance signal simulator pistol capable of reaching distances up to 1.5 km. It features a detachable 7000mAh battery that is designed to withstand low temperatures, providing signal simulation capabilities that include emergency landing and return functionalities. The device allows for a maximum of 30W of power per channel, with up to 8 channels available for operational flexibility. Designed for user convenience, it comes equipped with an aiming sight, a portable backpack, and a car charger. The frequency bands and channels are customizable to meet specific requirements.

In terms of signal simulation, the device achieves a range of 1500 meters with an antenna gain greater than 10 dBi and a rapid response time of one second. The simulation angle is set at 60°. Powered by a LiPo source, it offers a total power of 350W and can operate continuously for approximately 45 minutes. The dimensions of the Smaug J1-1500 are 850 by 278.5 by 82.8 mm, with the package weighing 6 kg and the device itself weighing 4 kg.

The Smaug J1-1500 is built to endure various environmental conditions, featuring an IP54 protection rating and an operational temperature range from -20 to 60°C. It supports multiple channel types, including 6-channel configurations of Type A, B, and C, with dual-channel options for frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, among others. The 8-channel models provide even greater flexibility, covering a broad range of frequencies from 430-440 MHz to 5840-5940 MHz, catering to diverse operational needs.
