The purchase contract of these vehicles equipped with an RWS was concluded in September 2021 between the Slovenian Ministry of Defense and the U.S. government. Slovenia first ordered 38 JLTVs with CROWS (Common Remotely-Operated Weapon Station) from the Norwegian company Kongsberg, armed with a 12.7mm Browning M2 machine guns, that were delivered to Slovenia in 2022.

In October 2022, another agreement was concluded for the purchase of an additional 47 units of JLTVs, also fitted with Kongsberg's CROWS.

A year later, in October 2023, Slovenia ordered another 32 JLTVs. Seven more units will be transferred by the U.S. as compensation for the military aid that Slovenia provided to Ukraine.
