Built on a wheeled chassis with all-wheel drive, the "Lyut" is intended for high-intensity military missions. Its role as a mobile weapon platform allows it to perform diversionary maneuvers and accurately identify enemy positions during combat, thus improving strategic advantage on the battlefield.
Transitioning from a conceptual design to the industrial prototype stage, the "Lyut" has undergone a series of internal tests. This includes the creation of essential documentation for its official codification and the correction of any minor issues discovered during testing. Over thirty trials have been conducted to assess its shooting accuracy, communication efficiency under electronic warfare conditions, maneuverability across different terrains, and battery life.
The testing phase enabled the "Lyut" to achieve a direct line-of-sight communication range of up to 2 kilometers, with a reduced range of about 700 meters in areas with obstacles. Its mounted weapon, enhanced with targeting cameras, can accurately hit targets up to 800 meters away. When integrated with Ukraine's "Bukovel" electronic warfare (EW) systems, it demonstrates efficient operational capability within a 700-meter radius of the EW unit.
This project was initiated in response to a military request for a battlefield-ready robot, marking the team's first venture into advanced robotics. The insights gained from the initial prototype, created in the fall of 2022, have significantly contributed to refining the "Lyut" and advancing innovation in Ukraine's military robotics field.
The "Lyut" is designed for combat efficiency, with a low center of gravity and strategically placed weapon systems to minimize its profile and maximize durability. Its wheels are designed to withstand damage, ensuring operational continuity under fire. Although it is protected against standard small arms fire, it is vulnerable to armor-piercing rounds and has a notable ammunition capacity of 550 rounds.
The communication system used by the "Lyut" is similar to that of commercial drones, making operations cost-effective and straightforward. The user interface is designed to be easy to use, requiring only one operator with dual joysticks to control both the robot and its weaponry. This means that individuals with drone piloting experience can quickly learn to operate the UGV effectively.
