Ansbach, Germany – February 26, 2024 – In a significant milestone for U.S. military capabilities and NATO's eastern defenses, the U.S. Army Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, celebrated its redeployment ceremony in Ansbach, Germany. The M-SHORAD, or Maneuver Short Range Air Defense, is a mobile air defense system designed to protect frontline combat units from a variety of low-altitude aerial threats, including unmanned aerial systems (UAS), helicopters, and low-flying fixed-wing aircraft.
