Northrop Grumman has secured a multi-year agreement to manufacture initial batches of the AN/APR-39E(V)2 radar warning receivers for the U.S. Army. This state-of-the-art, fully digital system boasts the necessary instantaneous bandwidth and frequency range to defend against sophisticated radar threats effectively.

With enhanced clutter reduction and the ability to pinpoint threat locations, the AN/APR-39E(V)2 significantly enhances survivability, converting potential threats into actionable targets. Its open architecture design lays the groundwork for future expansions in electronic warfare capabilities.

James Conroy, Northrop Grumman’s vice president of navigation, targeting, and survivability, emphasized the advanced nature of the APR-39E(V)2, stating, “It represents a significant upgrade, providing unparalleled agility and capacity to stay ahead of evolving threats, marking a substantial improvement over earlier versions.”

The AN/APR-39E(V)2

Under a five-year deal, Northrop Grumman will produce the AN/APR-39E(V)2, marking a pivotal enhancement in the lineage of the widely deployed AN/APR-39 radar warning receiver series. Its advanced smart antenna system extends threat detection across a vast spectrum, including millimeter-wave frequencies, offering comprehensive threat awareness to combatants.

The system's design also positions it as a central controller for survivability suites in extensive, multi-domain combat scenarios, capable of disseminating threat information to improve survivability and operational success.

This groundbreaking technology, compatible with a wide array of electronic warfare systems, is adaptable to any platform or mission requirement, supporting both existing fleets and future developments.
