US Soldiers Execute Precision HiMARS Rocket Launcher Ammo Sling Load in Live Fire Exercise.

U.S. Soldiers from the 2-135th Ground Support Aviation Battalion of the Colorado Army National Guard conducted a comprehensive live-fire exercise in the expansive Fort Bragg training grounds. The exercise featured the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HiMARS) ammunition sling load with a Black Hawk helicopter. This rigorous training event was part of a broader effort to validate the brigade's mission command and sustainment operations capabilities.

The exercise, set within the context of the Atropian Warfighter scenario, was designed to simulate real-world combat conditions. Soldiers executed multiple fire missions throughout the night, demonstrating their proficiency in utilizing advanced artillery systems under pressure. The training ensured the brigade's readiness to perform in complex and dynamic operational environments.

To ensure the effectiveness of the training, the brigade's performance was externally evaluated by a coalition of experienced military units. These included members from the 138th Field Artillery Brigade of the Kentucky Army National Guard, the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery, and the 528th Sustainment Brigade, Special Operations (Airborne). Their expertise provided critical feedback and validation of the brigade's operational capabilities.

"The night live fire exercise is a crucial component of our training regimen," said Colonel John Smith, 2-135th Ground Support Aviation Battalion commander. "It tests our soldiers' technical skills and endurance and our ability to coordinate and execute complex missions seamlessly."

The successful completion of this exercise underscores the brigade's preparedness to support and sustain operations in any theater of combat. The integration of advanced systems like HiMARS and the rigorous external evaluation by seasoned military partners highlight the collaborative effort to maintain high standards of operational readiness within the Army National Guard.

As tensions rise globally, exercises like these are vital in ensuring that the U.S. military remains capable and ready to respond to any threat. The 2-135th Ground Support Aviation Battalion's demonstration of skill and coordination at Fort Bragg is a testament to the enduring strength and resilience of the National Guard units.

The High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HiMARS) is a highly mobile and versatile rocket artillery system used by the U.S. Army to deliver precise and rapid-fire support. Mounted on a medium tactical vehicle, HiMARS offers excellent maneuverability and can be swiftly deployed across various terrains. It can launch a variety of precision-guided munitions, including the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) and the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), enabling it to strike targets at ranges up to 300 kilometers with ATACMS and up to 70 kilometers with GMLRS. This mobility, range, and accuracy combination makes HiMARS a crucial asset for modern battlefield operations.
