WDS 2024: Saudi company NCMS showcases Moreb 30 system with 30mm or 40mm gun options.
At the World Defense Show 2024 (WDS 2024) in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi company National Company for Mechanical Systems (NCMS) is presenting its Moreb 30 system, an automatic platform featuring 2-axis stabilization. Specifically engineered for armored vehicles, the Moreb 30 integrates either the MK 44 Bushmaster II 30mm (adaptable to 40mm) chain gun or the Russian 2A42 30mm cannon, alongside a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun.

The Moreb 30 claims to offer superior long-range accuracy owing to its next-gen ballistic calculator, and integrates two electro-optical systems, offering adaptability for both day and night operations. This, combined with its modular design and low profile, purportedly reduces its radar footprint.
The weapon station utilizes a 2-axis gyro-stabilized mounting type and offers options for 30 and 40 mm cannons. It can accommodate up to 12 smoke launchers for smoke and fragmentation grenades, along with a 7.62mm machine gun. Optionally, the system can integrate two anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs). Its elevation range spans from -20° to 60°, with full azimuth coverage of 360°, and stabilization maintained at less than 0.2 mrad. The weight without weapons and munitions is stated to be under 1250 kg.
The Moreb 30 incorporates various features to enhance its functionality, including configurable fire zone inhibition, integration with a GPS system, and data exchangeability with external C4I systems. It also includes a ballistic calculator for precise firing and supports Hunter Killer capability and missile integration.
The electro-optical systems integrated into the Moreb 30 provide advanced targeting capabilities. A cooled IR camera utilizes 3rd Gen MWIR InSb technology, offering a resolution of 640 x 512 pixels at 15μm, with a wide field of view (WFOV) of 36.83°(H) x 29.42°(V) and a narrow field of view (NFOV) of 1.83°(H) x 1.47°(V). It features an optical continuous zoom of 20x, providing detection, recognition, and identification ranges of over 19.1km, 6.5km, and 7.6km respectively.
A Day Sight Camera (DSC) equipped with a CMOS 1/2.8 sensor offers a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a wide field of view (WFOV) of 63.7°(H) x 35.51°(V) and a narrow field of view (NFOV) of 2.3°(H) x 1.3°(V), along with a continuous zoom of 30x. The DSC provides detection, recognition, and identification ranges of over 14.3km, 9.5km, and 7.6km respectively. A Laser Range Finder (LRF) ensures precise distance measurement with an accuracy of ±1 m within its range of 50 m to 15 km, operating at a wavelength of 1550 nm.
