Expodefensa 2025: China Xinxing Light Tactical Intelligent Glasses move from PLA use to global export markets.
Chinese supplier China Xinxing Import and Export Co Ltd is displaying its Light Tactical Intelligent Glasses at Expodefensa 2025 in Bogotá, an AR head-mounted system already in service with units of the People’s Liberation Army. The compact helmet-mounted display targets foreign armed forces looking to digitize dismounted soldiers with real-time video, thermal sensing, and on-board AI processing.
China Xinxing has brought its Light Tactical Intelligent Glasses to Expodefensa 2025, positioning the augmented reality headset as a ready-to-export element of a broader modular soldier system. The head-mounted display, already fielded within the People’s Liberation Army, combines visible and infrared imaging, embedded sensors, and a dedicated processor that overlays tactical data directly in front of the operator’s eye. Presented alongside weapons, drones, and protective gear on the company’s stand, the system is pitched as a practical, rugged tool for infantry, mechanized units, and dismounted specialists who need constant visual access to maps, targeting cues, and shared reconnaissance feeds.

The system is based on a head-mounted display that combines an infrared sensor, a high-definition digital camera, a near-eye optical system, and a dedicated processor able to handle video streams and tactical data in real time. It also includes a digital compass, a barometer, and an attitude sensor that ensure stabilized, coherent imagery during rapid movement and in demanding environments. An adjustable elastic strap allows the frame to be fitted on different helmets, which facilitates use in units equipped with various protective headgear.
The separate battery pack is designed for quick replacement during missions. The complete assembly weighs around 280 grams, which limits the load on the helmet and helps maintain user comfort over long periods, a relevant factor for extended patrols or mechanized infantry operations. Power consumption of 3 watts or less supports an endurance of up to eight hours with a standard battery, extendable through additional packs carried by the operator.
Optical performance relies on a 45-degree field of view and intra-ocular brightness above 800 nits, maintaining image readability outdoors. The modulation transfer function reaches at least 0.4 at 30 line pairs per millimeter, providing enough contrast for tactical symbols and fine details. Augmented reality imagery is displayed at 1920×1080 pixels and 60 hertz, while the visible-light camera delivers a 1080p stream at 30 hertz for reconnaissance, documentation, or transmission to a command-and-control system. Computing power of 6 tera-operations per second enables on-board execution of infrared detection, facial recognition, access to tactical maps, and sharing of reconnaissance information within a combat group.
The device has an IP54 protection rating, giving resistance to dust and water splashes, suitable for use in open terrain or urban areas. Operating temperatures range from –40 °C to +55 °C, with storage limits from –55 °C to +85 °C, which broadens possible use in cold, temperate, or hot climates, subject to observance of the manufacturer’s guidelines. The maximum permitted weight for the head-mounted module is 300 grams, which defines the upper limit for operational configurations without undermining ergonomics.
At Expodefensa 2025, China Xinxing Import and Export Co Ltd appears not only as a supplier of tactical visualization devices but also as a Chinese industrial actor offering small arms, drones, light armored vehicles, protective equipment, and a wide range of logistical solutions for foreign armed forces. The international dissemination of its products, including these tactical glasses already fielded by the Chinese army, reflects the company’s expansion across several segments of the defense market and contributes to the wider presence of Chinese equipment in soldier systems, land platforms, and support technologies.
