Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) is a government defence procurement institution which was founded in 1985 with major tasks to constitute a modern defence industry in Turkey and to achieve the modernization of the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) accordingly. In order to attain this objective, the main principle applied by SSM is to meet military requirements through domestic suppliers in the most technically and economically feasible way possible.

Today the Turkish defence sector can surely claim a strong presence in the market in broad range of areas; from aerospace, naval shipbuilding and tracked and wheeled armored vehicles, to specialized textile, armaments and munitions, missiles and rocketry and advanced defence electronics.

Under the auspices of SSM, Turkey is proud to share her achievements in the defence industry with her twenty-five distinctive companies at DIMDEX 2014 Hall 6.
