Sagem
(Safran), the European leader in navigation systems and equipment, announced
today at the Euronaval 2014 trade show at Le Bourget near Paris that
it has delivered the 200th BlueNaute® precision attitude and heading
reference systems for civilian maritime applications. In production
since the end of 2012, BlueNaute® systems stand out from previousgeneration
products by their exceptional reliability and robustness.

These
qualities make BlueNaute® systems especially appreciated for the
most demanding operations: support vessels for offshore oil (especially
in dynamic positioning systems), coast guards, maritime police forces,
etc. BlueNaute®'s main customers are based in the United States,
Europe, southeast Asia and the Middle East. BlueNaute® calls on
a proprietary technology from Sagem, the hemispherical resonator gyro
(HRG).
This highly innovative technology perfectly matches the requirements
of civilian shipping, in line with the provisions of the International
Maritime Organization and the SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) treaty.
With mean time between failures (MTBF) exceeding 100,000 hours. BlueNaute®
marks a major step forward in ease of maintenance and total cost of
ownership.
Joël Berkoukchi, head of the Sagem Avionics division, added, "This
business win confirms our choice of HRG technology for the BlueNaute®
shipborne navigation system. In just a few months, this new product
line has been welcomed very enthusiastically by our customers. In fact,
BlueNaute® has become a significant growth driver for all of our
navigation business lines.” |
