Supplied Missile Systems "Arbalet-K"’ And "Bar’er-Vk"
to Navy of Kazakhstan |

Kyiv Design Bureau ‘Luch’, being incorporated with Ukroboronprom,
has shipped for the Navy of Kazakhstan the next batch of armament that
contains Arbalet-K short range shipborne air defense system and Bar’er-VK
naval missile guided weapon system.
It was informed by Sergiy Gromov, General Director of the State Concern
‘Ukroboronprom’. According to executive, the first batch
that had been shipped earlier has already been put into operation by
the Navy of Kazakhstan and it is being successfully used in the interest
of the national security of this country.
“State Kyiv Design Bureau ‘Luch’ is the ‘flagship’
enterprise of the state military industrial complex involved in development
and manufacture of up-to-date armament and enhancement of unique technologies.
In the past two years the enterprise has mastered a new successful direction
- manufacture of armament for small warships. The success of those developments
is proved by the regularity of shipments for the foreign customer”,
Mr. Gromov said. |

Arbalet-K
short range shipborne air-defense missile system is intended to destroy
jet, propjet and propeller-driven aircrafts and helicopters at head-on
and pursuit courses under conditions of a target direct visibility with
the use of air-defense guided missiles of “Igla” type. The
firing range is not more than 5000 m, the minimum altitude of targets
destruction is 10 m, target detection range – 12 km at day time
and 7 km at night time. |

Bar’er-VK
naval missile guided weapon system is designed to destroy ships as well
as coastal moving and stationary modern armoured targets and light-armoured
objects, coastal fortified firing positions and helicopters with missiles
RK-2V. The maximum firing range is 7500 m. Flight time to maximum range
is 30 s. The system of missile guidance acts through laser ray with
automatic mode of target tracking.
Both complexes include base with actuator, guidance device with thermal
imager and traverse platform.
These armament complexes are developed and manufactured by the State
Kyiv Design Bureau ‘Luch’ in cooperation with the list of
member enterprises of the Ukroboronprom State Concern. |
