India's First Scorpene Submarine Kalvari Conducting Harbour Acceptance Trials
 
According to India's Ministry of Defence, the first of the Scorpene diesel electric submarine (SSK) is currently conducting its Harbour Acceptance Trials (HATs) as planned while Sea Acceptance Trials (SATs) are planned to be undertaken from early 2016 onwards. The submarine is planned to be inducted in the Indian Navy in September 2016 and subsequent submarines are expected to be delivered every nine months.

Kalvari, the first Indian Navy’s Scorpene class SSK being built under the Project 75, under collaboration with French company DCNS, achieved a major milestone in April with her ‘undocking’ at the Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) India’s prime shipyard located in Mumbai .
