KONGSBERG is an international knowledge-based group that supplies high-technology
systems and solutions to customers in the defence and aerospace domain
and to civilian markets. During UDT 2015 Undersea Defence Technology
exhibition and conference, KONGSBERG presents its REMUS family of AUVs
with REMUS 100, REMUS 600-S and REMUS 6000 AUVs. |
REMUS
- Remote Environmental Measuring UnitS 100 is a compact, light-weight,
Autonomous Underwater Vehicle - AUV designed for operation in coastal
environments up to 100 meters in depth. The REMUS 100 AUV can be configured
to include a wide variety of standard and/or customer specified sensors
and system options to meet your unique autonomous mission requirements.
The
capabilities of the REMUS 100 make it ideally suitable for marine research,
defense, hydrographic and offshore/energy markets. The vehicle is small
enough to be carried by two people, yet contains enough sophisticated
sensor, navigation, and power resources to enable it to perform intricate
sonar and oceanographic surveys over large areas. REMUS 100 is in service
in a lot of navies around the world. |
The
REMUS 600-S (Survey) is equipped with a Kongsberg EM 2040 Multibeam
Echosounder (MBES) along with NavP and NavLab which will allow its operator
to collect high resolution, IHO quality bathymetric data with unmatched
navigational accuracy in shallow water.
The
REMUS technology provides the operator with absolute confidence in performing
completely autonomous operations with high levels of data assurance
and accuracy. The REMUS 600-S vehicle has long endurance capability
and increased payload capacity compared to other AUVs. The vehicle also
has a full suite of communications options including Iridium, Wi-Fi,
and acoustic communications. An emergency communication system is also
included that powers the GPS, Iridium, and the acoustic transponder
in the event of a failure or power loss. |
REMUS
6000 is the deepest member of KONGSBERG's family of Autonomous Underwater
Vehicles. The REMUS 6000 AUV was designed under a cooperative program
involving the Naval Oceanographic Office, the Office of Naval Research,
and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution - WHOI, in support of deep-water
autonomous operations. The REMUS 6000 AUV boasts the same proven software
and electronic subsystems found in our highly successful REMUS 100 AUV,
with a depth rating, endurance, and payload that allow for autonomous
operations in up to 6000 meters of water.
The
REMUS 6000 has been designed to enable operations to water depths as
great as 6000 meters. The versatile design also allows long mission
durations in shallow littoral areas. The REMUS 6000 can be configured
to include a wide range of customer specified sensors. The sensor suite
can be reconfigurable and enables the REMUS 6000 to be configured to
meet specific, and varied, mission requirements.
The
REMUS 6000 incorporates the same proven Vehicle Interface Program (VIP)
used in the complete family of REMUS vehicles. The highly refined VIP
makes vehicle maintenance, checkout, mission planning, and data analysis
fast and easy. Windows operation, quick look indicators, quality control
checks, and a sophisticated data export capability all add to the user
friendly nature of this software package. |
