"The
lead ship of Project 22350, the Admiral Gorshkov, has conducted a live
fire exercise in the White Sea, using its 130-mm versatile artillery
system to engage waterborne targets," Serga said. As was reported in the press, the Admiral Gorshkov arrived at a naval base of the Northern Fleet from the Baltic Sea in late September and put out to sea in mid-October to complete the official trials of its weapons and equipment. The frigate is planned for commissioning with the Russian Navy before year-end. The keel of the Admiral Gorshkov was laid in early 2006. The frigate was set afloat in autumn 2010. It commenced its tests in November 2014. The frigate displaces 4,500 tons and has a speed of 29 knots. It carries, inter alia, 16 Onyx or Kalibr missiles and the Poliment-Redut air defense missile system. © Copyright 2015 TASS. All rights reserved.
