The
Russian Navy has received the eighth Project 03160 patrol boat Raptor,
Navy spokesman Captain 1st Rank Igor Dygalo said on Monday. The Project
03160 patrol boat Raptor is the last vessel in the series built by the
Pella Shipyard in the Leningrad Region in northwest Russia, he added. |
"After
the completion of the builders and state trials in the Baltic Sea, the
state acceptance commission has signed a report to deliver the advanced
new-generation Project 03160 high-speed boat Raptor to the Russian Navy,"
Dygalo said. "The eighth Project 03160 patrol boat Raptor is the
last vessel in the series built by the Pella Shipyard in St. Petersburg
for the Russian Navy," he added. According to the spokesman, the
patrol boat Raptor will join the Black Sea Fleet. The Russian Navy was
expected to receive the last two Project 03160 boats in the series before
the end of November 2015.
The boat’s deck house and personnel room have Class 5 armor protection.
The Project 03160 patrol boat has a displacement of 23 tons, a length
of 16.9 meters, a maximum speed of 50 knots and endurance of 300 miles.
Its crew totals two-three with 20-strong special personnel.
