In addition to landing, the exercise involved "hot
refueling" (with engines running) of the three helicopters, with
constant contact between the French Navy and Spanish Army.
According to the Spanish Army, the exercise was used to test the possibilities of working together with and from French Navy ships. |

addition to those carried out recently with the Spanish Navy amphibious
assault ship the Juan Carlos I and the US Navy Whidbey Island-class
dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall.
