Rakhmanov emphasized that the Russian Defense Ministry would issue open tenders for the upgrade of the carrier. "I hope that our company will win the competition and land the order," the USC president added. Previously, the media, referring to USC Vice President for Military Shipbuilding Igor Ponomaryov, had reported that the carrier would be repaired and modernized in 2018 after it returned from its cruise.
