Installation
and integration activities of the KULAC Echosounder System into Indonesian
Navy Type 209 Class Submarine shall be performed by ASELSAN in the coming
months. KULAC is an echo sounder system to support navigation safety of surface ships and submarines. System receives the echoes of transmitted acoustic signals from both bottom of the sea or from the sea surface (for submarines) and displays precise depth value to user by measuring the time difference between transmitting and receiving acoustic signals. KULAC Echosounder System consists of Transmitting/Receiving and Processing Unit, Acoustic Transducers, Transducer Connection Box and optional Remote Display Units. System has been designed to comply military standards and validated accordingly. System operates with high sensitivity and capable of measuring up to 1000 meters depth. It has high recording capability and allows synchronous operation of multiple acoustic systems on a single platform. KULAC Echosounder System operates at 50 kHz for deep waters and 200kHz/400 kHzfrequencies for shallow waters, providing measurement with less than %1 accuracy. System has up-to-dated technology comprising open architecture and modular design, modern signal processing algorithms and user friendly interfaces. System supports ruggedized 19” rack or desk mounted usage. KULAC Echosounder System has already been integrated into submarines of Turkish Navy and functioning smoothly since 2013. System shall be installed in ADA Class Corvettes and LHD platform already being constructed for Turkish Navy. |
