Helibras presented the first H225M fitted with MBDA Exocet Anti-Ship Missiles to the Brazilian Navy
 
Helibras opened the doors of its plant on Tuesday, 25, 2016 and performed a flight demonstration of the first armed H225M of the Brazilian Navy. It is the most complex helicopter being produced and developed by the company's Engineering Center within the H-XBR program.

The BRA-05 prototype is fitted with the Naval Mission Tactical System, developed by Helibras especially for Navy missions, APS-143 maritime patrol radar, Chaff & Flare decoy launchers and intelligence system with two MBDA Exocet AM39 Block II Mod. 2 anti-ship missiles of lastest generation.

The first flight of the aircraft was performed in presence of the President of Helibras Richard Marelli, the Commander of the Navy, Admiral Squadron Bacellar Eduardo Leal Ferreira, and the Navy invited, Air Force, Army and partner companies, which were able to follow the progress of the project. "It is an honor and a great pleasure to present this new version, because I was at the head of all H225M project in Brazil, before assuming the presidency of Helibras. I am confident and proud of the work our team is doing here, in close collaboration with the Armed Forces and our partners who have helped us build this naval version, unique in the world, "said Marelli.

The development and manufacturing of this new naval version were conducted under the leadership of Helibras in collaboration with ATECH and ADS, responsible for tactical naval mission system that is the heart of missile integration with the aircraft and sensors; and Avibras and Mectron that perform motorization missile Exocet AM39 B2M2, manufactured by MBDA.

The Mission Tactical System Naval installed on H225M allows the commander of the mission to establish and evaluate complex tactical-operational situation in the cockpit, in coordination with an operator at the tactical console in the helicopter cabin, and authorize the launch of AM39 missile in the best conditions.

BRA-05 aircraft will be the first H225M operational version to be delivered to the Brazilian Navy in 2018. Before that, next year, the new systems of this version will go through the evaluation and certification of military authority, the Department of Science and Technology aerospace (DCTA-IFI).

The helicopter is part of the 50 units Contract H-XBR program ordered by the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces that are being produced in Brazil to transfer technology and knowledge in the country, Cooperation & Offset project, which has been fulfilled by Helibras.

The company has delivered 26 aircraft of this package already totaled more than 14,000 hours of flight. Seven of them are in operation in the Navy of Brazil, ten in the FAB, including two units of the GTE-nine in the Brazilian army.
