"The
nuclear-powered submarine Kuzbass started undergoing repairs at the
Zvezda Shipyard in 2009. The technical capabilities of the multipurpose
submarine have been restored and the submarine has been furnished with
advanced equipment," the administration said.
"Now, the submarine is ready to go to sea to accomplish combat
and tactical missions," the administration added.
The K-419 nuclear-powered submarine Kuzbass was laid down on July 28,
1991 at the Leninsky Komsomol Shipyard (now known as the Amur Shipyard).
The submarine Kuzbass was put afloat on May 18, 1992. It joined the
Russian Pacific Fleet on February 5, 1993.
Before the repairs, the submarine Kuzbass was on combat duty in the
Pacific and the Arctic Oceans.
The submarine Kuzbass started undergoing repairs at the Zvezda Shipyard
in 2009.
The shipyard has restored and partially upgraded the submarine’s
equipment.
As the Russian Defense Ministry’s press office said earlier, the
submarine’s life support systems, as well as radio technical equipment
and sonar apparatus have been modernized.
