According
to the spokesman, the corporation will be loaded with work for 10-15 years
to come. "The use of a new element base will allow extending the service life of [Kinzhal] systems mounted on all operational Project 1155 ships. This will also reduce the system’s price and allow providing the Navy with a required number of these systems," the spokesman said. Also, Russia’s Navy is working out technical specifications on a future shipborne self-defense surface-to-air missile system. "In accordance with an instruction of the Russian Navy’s Main Command, the Shipbuilding and Armament Research Institute is preparing technical specifications for the development of a shipborne self-defense surface-to-air missile system," the spokesman added. © Copyright 2016 TASS.
