"A
solemn ceremony of laying down the multipurpose corvette Rezky designed
for littoral operations has been held at the Amur Shipyard. The ceremony
is timed to the enterprise’s 80th anniversary that is being celebrated
in the town of Yunost," a source who took part in the ceremony
said. "Representatives of the shipyard have attached a plaque
to the ship," the source added. The corvette Rezky is the fourth Project 20380 vessel that is being built for the Pacific Fleet at the Amur Shipyard. The corvette is planned to be delivered to the customer in 2019. "It is necessary to build both war ships and merchant vessels and receive orders from fishing companies. I’m sure that the shipyard will be able to accomplish these tasks as well," Governor Vyacheslav Shport said at the ceremony. Corvettes of project 20380 have a displacement of 1800 tons, a length of over 100 meters and speed of up to 27 knots. They are designated to fight warships and submarines and support seaborne assault operations. The armaments of the corvettes comprise Uran anti-ship missile complex, Redut anti-aircraft missile complex, 100mm artillery complexes A-190 and 30mm AK-630. The warships are equipped with modern radars, radio-electronic and anti-submarine weapons. The corvette is capable of carrying a Ka-27PL helicopter.
