"We
will continue building Project 22010 ships and will lay down the first
serial vessel in summer," Burilichev said. "The Russian
Defense Ministry has signed the contract with the shipyard. We are planning
to lay down the vessel on June 9-10," the head said, adding
that the new vessel Almaz would be bigger than its predecessor, i.e. the
Project 22010 ship Yantar. According to Burilichev, the first serial Project 22010 ship will be built, considering the operation of its predecessor. According to the head, the Project 22010 ocean research ship Yantar has performed a three month-long voyage, worked in various weather conditions from northern to southern latitudes and proved its efficiency. "The designers have received proposals from the operators of the Project 22010 ocean research ship Yantar. They will take them into account and "the next vessel will be better than its predecessor," Burilichev said. The Project 22010 ocean research ship has been developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. The Yantar Shipyard delivered the Project 22010 lead ship Yantar to the Russian Defense Ministry in May 2015. The Russian Defense Ministry is planned to receive the first serial Project 22010 vessel in 2019. The Project 22010 ocean research vessel is designed to explore the World Ocean and its bed. The Project 22010 ocean research vessel carries the Rus and Konsul-class deep-water manned and unmanned submersible vehicles. The Project 22010 vessel can be used to conduct search and rescue operations. The equipment mounted on the vessel allows searching for sunken vessels staying at a sea or ocean depth. © Copyright 2015 TASS. All rights reserved.
