IDEF 2017: ASELSAN Showcasing its ÇAFRAD Phased Array Radar for TF-2000 Frigate
 
At IDEF 2017, the international defense exhibition currently held in Istanbul, Turkish company ASELSAN is showcasing its ÇAFRAD multi-function phased array radar. The radar will be fitted on the future TF-2000 Frigates anti air warfare of the Turkish Navy.

ÇAFRAD combines indigenous design with latest technological advances including fully solid state transmit/receive modules, digital signal processing, pulse compression, multiple target tracking, electronic beam stabilization along with advanced electronic counter-counter measures.

ÇAFRAD suite creates detailed long range recognized air picturewith multitasking functionality.

ÇAFRAD suite can be integrated into single mast structure with Electronic Warfare Suite, Navigation/LPI Radars and Active Communications Antennas or can be distributed along the ship superstructure.

Talking to Navy Recognition, an ASELSAN representative explained that factory acceptance tests (FAT) of a single face will be completed this year, and the same 1 face will be tested at sea on a test bed in 2018.

The TF-2000 class frigate is a projected anti-air warfare frigate currently undergoing development by the Turkish Naval Institute.
